The City and County of Broomfield’s (CCOB) Human Services Department achieved major state recognition, receiving two awards from the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and one from the State Division of Child Welfare. 

During an in-office ceremony, state officials presented the department with the 2025 CDHS C-STAT Distinguished Performer Award—marking the sixth consecutive win for achieving monthly County C-Stat service goals at least 80% of the time—and named Broomfield the Most Improved Medium County after raising its community success rate from 79.2% in 2024 to 89% in 2025. Additionally, Social Caseworker Supervisor Valarie Aparicio, MS, was honored as one of only five state recipients of the Social Caseworker of the Year Award.
