US 287 and 120th Ave. CDOT Intersection Improvements in Broomfield

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will construct improvements at four locations in Broomfield to reduce traffic congestion and increase capacity for current and future growth. The project involves adding turn lanes, modifying lane configurations and installing medians, pedestrian crosswalks and new traffic signals.

Work is scheduled to begin on Sept. 1, with completion anticipated in late December.

  • US 287 and Miramonte Boulevard: Southbound US 287 left turn capacity improvements
  • US 287 and Midway Boulevard: Southbound US 287 left turn capacity improvements
  • US 287 at US 36 WB ramp: Southbound US 287 to Westbound US 36 separated on-ramp
  • US 287/West 120th Avenue at Eastbound Sheridan Boulevard: modification to allow for third eastbound lane to begin

Traffic Impacts 

  • Single lane closures during overnight hours and select mid-day windows. Full access to all roadways, sidewalks, driveways and area businesses will be maintained throughout the construction period.
  • Overnight lane closures affect all locations, generally running from early evening until 6 a.m. on weekdays and lasting until 10 a.m. on weekends. 
  • Mid-day lane closures are scheduled on weekdays for US 287 Southbound, US 287 Eastbound and both directions of CO 121 to avoid peak commuting hours, while the eastbound section at W. 120th and Sheridan can experience closures anytime over the weekend.
