UPDATED - Water Ban changed to odd/even

Following a thorough review of recent static well-level trends and water consumption, which has decreased to levels consistent with normal fall usage, we have decided to reduce the current watering restrictions from a full outdoor water ban to an odd/even outdoor watering schedule, consistent with restrictions implemented in previous years.

The odd/even outdoor watering schedule will take effect tomorrow, September 29. Veolia will also begin sending notifications to all customers tomorrow regarding the change in watering restrictions.

While aquifer levels have not yet returned to historical averages, we anticipate that the rainfall received this past weekend will continue to contribute to aquifer recharge as the water gradually percolates into the groundwater system. We will continue to closely monitor well levels and system demand as conditions develop.

It is important to recognize that not all rainfall contributes directly to groundwater recharge, as a significant portion becomes surface runoff. Additionally, groundwater response to rainfall is not immediate; water that does infiltrate the ground can take days or longer to reach the aquifer and be reflected in well-level measurements.

We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide further updates as warranted. Let's hope for more rain.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and partnership.
