Weare, NH – On Monday, August 24 at approximately 9:30 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game received a call from New Hampshire State Police Dispatch about an ATV crash that had occurred on private property in Weare. A female operator was injured in the crash. Weare Police Department, Weare Fire Department, and a Conservation Officer with New Hampshire Fish and Game responded to the crash.

Sonya Letendre, 31, of Weare, New Hampshire, was operating an ATV at her boyfriend’s house during the evening hours on Monday. Letendre was riding the ATV in a driveway that was lit by artificial lights when she traveled out of the lit area and could no longer see where she was going. Letendre hit a rock, became airborne, and collided with a mailbox post, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and her ATV did not have headlights. Letendre was transported to Concord Hospital to be evaluated for her injuries.

New Hampshire Fish and Game would like to remind people to always wear helmets and to not exceed their riding abilities.
