PINE BLUFF, Ark. — A former sergeant with the Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) has been charged with Breaking or Entering, Abuse of Public Trust, and Theft of Property.

On June 18, 2026, the 11th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney asked the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division to investigate a possible theft at the PBPD.

The investigation revealed that former PBPD Sgt. Charles Clark, 45, stole $1,000 from the PBPD Narcotics/Vice Unit when he was employed by PBPD. Before the investigation began, Clark resigned from PBPD and accepted a position with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

On September 3, 2026, Clark surrendered to the JCSO and was given a $2,500 bond.

This investigation is ongoing. No additional information will be released at this time.
