Lebanon: Guide to Law 105 on the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons

Law 105, adopted in 2018, was a major step toward clarifying the fate and whereabouts of Lebanon’s missing and forcibly disappeared persons. It recognizes families’ right to know, access information and recover remains, and established an independent National Commission to lead the process. The ICRC has supported families and authorities since 2012 and, with the Swiss Embassy, developed an accessible guide to help families and the public understand and implement the law.
