Potential Tropical Cyclone Five

10AM: PTC5 is forecast to become a tropical depression or tropical storm later today or tonight along the northwestern Gulf coast. Main impacts will be the potential for localized heavy rainfall and marine impacts. This system will not bring any widespread, significant impacts.

Increased rain chances through tomorrow. Less than one inch, with the highest totals south of the I-10/12 corridor. Localized 1-3 inches from any heavier thunderstorms could lead to ponding of water in low lying or poor drainage areas, or isolated flash flooding.

For marine areas, increased winds and seas over the Gulf waters west of Port Fourchon will lead to hazardous conditions for small craft.
