5 Days, 5 Ways Lombardo Embraces Toxic Data Centers: “Billionaire Friends” Edition
In response to Joe Lombardo’s embrace of deeply unpopular data centers, NV Dems is launching a new series to highlight every way he’s sold out Nevadans to keep his billionaire donors and Donald Trump happy. On day one, we’re highlighting how Lombardo is bought and paid for by data centers and AI billionaires.
When he took the stage with Trump, Lombardo admitted that his top priority is helping Trump’s “billionaire friends” over working Nevadans. New reporting shows that days before Lombardo publicly embraced data centers, he took $1 million from pro-AI billionaires and then raked in more cash from a multi-millionaire family building data centers in Nevada. To date, Lombardo has given data center companies $240 million in tax abatements.
As Lombardo embraces data centers and takes millions from the wealthy donors building and profiting off of them, Nevadans have been vocal in their opposition to blanket support of data centers, spanning rural, urban, and suburban communities.
Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Kate Sosland released the following statement:
“Joe Lombardo is bought and paid for by his and Donald Trump’s ‘billionaire friends’ bankrolling dozens of data centers in Nevada. While Nevadans are forced to pick between putting food on the table and keeping their AC on, Lombardo is only focused on swarming Nevada communities with data centers that will drain our resources and jack up costs even more.”
