The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest in a shooting that occurred in Northwest.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers from the Third District responded to the 3300 block of Mount Pleasant Street, Northwest, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two victims, an adult male and a juvenile male, both conscious and breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported both victims to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Through investigative efforts, Third District detectives gathered information and developed leads that identified the suspect.

On August 20, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, a 17-year-old juvenile male of Southeast, D.C., was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
