Temporary Road Closure in Freeport

Walton County, FL, 08/18/26 – Walton County Public Works will temporarily close a section of Hatcher Cemetery Road in Freeport beginning Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 8 a.m. for the replacement of three drainage pipes. The closure will be limited to one location between the two ponds.

Hatcher Cemetery Road loops between State Road 20 and County Highway 83A. During the closure, residents will continue to have access to their properties and may enter or exit Hatcher Cemetery Road from State Road 20 or County Highway 83A, depending on which side of the closure their property is located. The section of roadway will remain closed until the work is completed and the roadway can safely reopen.

Motorists should use caution in the area, follow all posted signage, and expect delays while crews are working. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
