Hit and Run Collision Leaves Skateboarder Injured

Detectives are investigating a hit and run collision that left a 20-year-old man seriously injured.

On Wednesday morning around 5:27 a.m., a witness called 911 to report a hit and run collision in the 800 block of Harrison Street.

According to the witness, a driver struck a skateboarder while heading westbound on Harrison Street. The driver fled the scene in their vehicle then drove northbound on 8th Avenue. The vehicle was described as a red, newer model Acura sedan.

Seattle Fire Department medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad are investigating the circumstances around the collision.
