Henry Garcia, a retired correctional supervising cook from the Correctional Training Facility (CTF) at Soledad, passed away Aug. 1, 2026.
Services will be held Aug. 11-12 in King City (details below).
Garcia began his career at CTF in May 2006 as a correctional supervising cook in Central Food Services. After more than 20 years of dedicated service to the department, he retired in May 2026.
“Throughout his career, Garcia was a valued member of the CTF family. His dedication, professionalism and commitment to serving the institution as well as his fellow employees will be remembered by those who had the privilege of working alongside him. On behalf of CTF, we extend our deepest condolences to the Garcia family, friends and all who knew him,” according to CTF. “Please keep his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Henry Garcia. Your service and contributions to CTF will not be forgotten.”
The Garcia family shared the following service information for those wishing to pay their respects:
- Viewing: Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., Eddington Funeral Services, 429 Bassett St., King City
- Funeral Mass: Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m., St. John’s Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St., King City
- Reception: Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 12:30 p.m., The Rustic Barrel, 611 Canal St., King City
