The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission set the opening dates for the 2026 fall inshore shrimp season within state waters, based on information from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) biologists and public comments.
At today’s meeting, the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) adopted a Notice of Intent (NOI) allowing the removal of derelict crab traps along Louisiana’s coast.
LDWF has scheduled a drawdown on Chicot Lake in Evangeline Parish to begin on September 8, 2026.
