FICKETT PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD SEX OFFENSES
On April 8, 2026, 45-year-old Roger Fickett Jr. entered a guilty plea in Cowlitz County Superior Court to Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexual Conduct in the Second Degree, and Rape of a Child in the First, Second, and Third Degree. In a separate case, Fickett also pled guilty to Identity Theft in the First Degree. On May 20, 2026, Fickett was sentenced. As required by statute, Judge Patricia Fassett sentenced Fickett to an indeterminate sentence. Judge Fassett sentenced Fickett to 318 months (the high end of his standard range) with a maximum term of life, meaning that after completing his standard range sentence the Independent Sentencing Review Board has authority over his release.
We appreciate the work of the detectives from the Longview Police Department and hope this sentence helps bring closure and healing to the victims. The State was represented by Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jacob Lervold.
