Nebraska Wind for Schools Project Team Installs Turbine in Crawford

Nebraska Wind for Schools facilitator Dan McGuire reported on a Skystream installation at Crawford Public School on April 21. Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) was actively involved with the project, and Northwest Rural Public Power District (NRPPD) provided an interconnected solar unit for display next to the wind turbine that will remain for at least 1 year. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) provided project funding, and the Nebraska Attorney General's Office provided a $16,000 State Environmental Protection grant. Representatives from the school board, the city council, NPPD, NRPPD, USDA, and the local media attended the event. The Chadron Record reported on the installation.
